Advantages of system state monitoring
- Avoid unplanned downtime and costly outages with predictive maintenance
- Acquire motor current, speed and temperature to monitor system state
- Transmit relevant condition data directly to operating personnel
Through active Condition Monitoring, you can identify deviations at an early stage, avoid unplanned downtime and sustainably increase the availability and service life of your machinery.
Use the data provided by the SeGMo system to continuously monitor the condition of your machinery. Feel free to share your requirements with us. Together we will develop future-proof solutions for your application!
The SeGMo positioning drives internally monitor data such as motor current, speed and temperature. In the event of a fault, they generate messages and alarms to warn operating personnel.
Thanks to the integrated absolute multi-turn encoder, the positioning drive knows its current position at all times. This allows a restart interlock to be implemented in the event of incorrect settings, protecting your machinery from critical situations.
What role does condition monitoring play in packaging machines?
Condition monitoring refers to the continuous monitoring of machine condition during ongoing operation. The goal is to detect wear, deviations, and impending failures early - before they lead to unplanned downtime or quality problems. In packaging systems with high throughput and tight cycle time requirements, condition monitoring is a core component of predictive maintenance.
Modern positioning drives deliver far more than the current position value. Deviations between setpoint and actual position, changing travel times, or increased current draw are early indicators of mechanical wear - for example in spindles, gearboxes, or guides. When these values are continuously recorded and evaluated, wear patterns can be identified before a component actually fails.
