Digital position displays: UL certification makes exporting easy

Lenord+Bauer digital and batteryless position displays for speedy and controlled format adjustments are now UL-certified, machine acceptance just got a lot easier in North America. To satisfy specific automation requirements, they can be combined in a flexible way with SeGMo positioning drives, which are likewise certified.

There are numerous obstacles involved in getting machinery and production facilities approved in the USA or Canada. Every component, including any installed cables, has to adhere to Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) specifications. In order to streamline machine approval for its customers and save time-consuming individual testing, Lenord+Bauer had its digital position displays tested by UL. This means that the SeGMo-Assist semi-automated solution is now also certified in addition to the full automation solutions.

The position display digitizes manual format adjustments and makes rotary and linear position measuring possible with process reliability. The position display exchanges data with the control system via the bus interface. This makes it possible to reliably monitor the axes connected to the PLC.
