Condition Monitoring sensor for rail vehicles
The new Condition Monitoring sensor from Lenord+Bauer combines six sensors in a compact housing. Integrated are sensors for speed and direction detection, along with modern MEMS accelerometer and temperature sensing technology for precise condition diagnostics directly on the bogie.
The CombiCODER processes the recorded data internally and provides extensive analysis functions. This enables early detection and assessment of wheel bearing damage, gearbox anomalies, wheel flat spots, and rail damage.
It is designed as a 1:1 replacement for standard speed sensors. Galvanic isolation ensures that safety-critical speed and direction detection operates independently of the diagnostic functions. Operators thus receive early warnings and a precise basis for maintenance planning.
