Cooperation agreed to develop motor manufactured in Europe

Lenord+Bauer and Cast Coil GmbH have signed a groundbreaking cooperation agreement. The purpose of this collaboration is to develop and manufacture the first prototypes of an outrunner electric motor with copper or aluminum cast stator coils, which are the patented cast coils. This technological partnership marks a major milestone in creating a strong European value chain in the field of electric motors.

Franz-Josef Wöstmann and Dr. Rudo Grimm seal the cooperation

Once the prototype phase has been successfully completed, production is planned at Lenord+Bauer’s Gladbeck site – and, if possible, all components will be produced in Europe. “This collaboration creates a sustainable alternative to drive solutions that are currently manufactured for the most part in Asia,” explains Dr. Rudo Grimm, Chairman of the Management Board at Lenord+Bauer.

Strategic bundling of Lenord+Bauer’s application and manufacturing expertise with cast coil technology results in a high-performance, reliable and sustainable engine. It is designed specifically for the growing transportation drone industry and other e-mobility applications where maximum reliability and efficiency are essential. “Together, we are setting new standards for European drive solutions,” states Franz-Josef Wöstmann, CEO at Cast Coil GmbH.

Production of the first prototypes is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2025. Both companies see not only the economic potential of this cooperation, but also consider it to be a major contribution to European technological sovereignty in the strategically important field of e-mobility.
